My favorite movie I don´t have a single favorite movie because I´m continuously watching many movies and documentaries, but for years I swore myself that "The Hurricane" would be forever my favorite one. More than eight years ago, before a Christmas I was zapping on television and suddenly I came to a channel where they were showing this movie, at first, I wasn´t very interested and I thought that I would continue changing channels but for some reason I continued watching it and the story was so touching that I ended up crying nonstop. The movie was based on the real story of an Afro-American boxer named Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, that was accused on 1966 for a triple murder and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison. It´s was a racist injustice, because there wasn´t real evidence that prove his guilty and at the same they weren't enough to incriminate him. La Serena Hi everyone! For me, La Serena is not only a city located in the north of Chile, it’s also my second home and most of the people who knows me can tell it´s true. At the beginning of the 2000s, La Serena wasn´t a very crowded beach, actually it had many plenty of swampy areas and the beach continued to look infinite in light of my eyes as a child. But over time more people began to come to vacation, the "Avenida del Mar" was filled with hotels, restaurants, pubs and huge buildings. I started going since I was three years old with my parents, we generally went during vacations and with the pass of the years it became a family tradition. The best concert ever Nice to see you again! It was 2015, I was still in school and at that time my best friend was named Andrés, we spent a lot of time together and shared the same musical tastes. One day listening to Spotify I discovered a Chilean singer named Daniel Riveros, better known as Gepe, I couldn't stop listening to his songs, the first one I learned was “Fruta y té”. That winter we found out that he would give a concert on October 1 at the Cariola theater, it would be a special event because he would launch his fifth album called “Estilo Libre” there, we didn't think twice and with Andrés and a friend we decided to buy the tickets. A country I'd like to visit Welcome everyone to my blog! The country that I would like to visit is related to a childhood dream. When I was a child I loved to watch the documentaries on the History Channel and the National Geographic, especially those related to Egypt. It was amazing to see the images of the pyramids, the sarcophagi, the hieroglyphs and that endless desert so different from what I knew. I could spend hours listening the stories about the lives of the pharaohs, about the City of the Dead, or about the largest library that ever existed in Alexandria. But, without a doubt, what caught my attention were the gods of that Ancient Egypt; their names, what they symbolized and how they were represented. That is how I became obsessed with the idea of one day being able to visit that country, I even wanted to be an archaeologist. Final Blog Welcome the last time to my blog! I want to talk about something really recently, last night I was finishing watching a Netflix documentary in which, 10 years later, part of the cast of "Cidade de Deus" met again. The reality was quite crude, in case you didn´t know, several actors were children who lived in the favela where the movie was filmed, some spent their salary to help their families and others gave themselves some luxuries. But over time all the fame and money began to disappear, and they who had been part of a film so awarded with international prestige were lost in history and had to continue living in that reality from before the film. The thing is that in the documentary I perceived some pieces of other visual works, many of them that I couldn´t recognize. I was born in 1998, at that time, and during my childhood, there were several channels that broadcast children's programs. I remember that most of the cartoons I saw were broadcast on Chilevisión, which at that time had a special program for children and young people called “El club de los tigritos” that broadcast it in the morning and in the afternoon, obviously the schedule varied over the years. One of my favorite shows that I watched with my mom was “Las tres mellizas”, which was about three sisters who had different adventures and when they did something wrong the Bored Witch sent them to different stories or historical moments to learn. My mom laughed with the witch and her owl while I entertained myself by learning fables and typical children's stories with this program.
